Morgan Justice-Black shares her Outdoor Outreach story

Outdoor Outreach for us as a corporate partner has two meanings. One, It’s an opportunity to engage our employees and their families to build stronger relationships with each other through outdoor activities where they have to work together. Second, the opportunity that OO provides to students to not only experience the outdoors but to become advocates and ambassadors for those outdoor spaces.”

One of Morgan’s favorite parts about Outdoor Outreach is “Seeing youth on leadership trajectory.”

Partnering with Outdoor Outreach has given her the opportunity to see first hand growth from participants; first as participants, then to being a leader, speaking at our annual fundraiser gala Lead the Way, becoming community advocates, to graduating high school.

“We see Outdoor Outreach as an environmental partner because when Outdoor Outreach takes these participants out to experience the outdoors, there is an inherent environmental stewardship component to that programming. We prioritize youth programs that are preserving and protecting natural spaces, and OO is doing that.”

Outdoor Outreach is a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides adventure-based youth development programs serving 1,700 vulnerable and at-risk youth each year. Through those programs, we’re helping youth build resilience in the face of challenges, and confidence in their power to make a difference.
