Compensation: DOE; benefits: 10
days off/year; 11 holidays; stipend towards medical benefits
Schedule: Full Time (40 hrs +
/week, regular weekends, and occasional overnights)

Outreach is a nonprofit that empowers at-risk and
underprivileged youth to make positive, lasting changes in
their lives through comprehensive outdoor programming.
Through partnerships with community based organizations and
schools, Outdoor Outreach provides youth with opportunities
to surf, snowboard, mountain bike, rock climb, hike,
backpack and snorkel.
Job
Description:
The
Field Program Manager will be responsible for developing,
coordinating and overseeing the daily operations and
delivery of all field programs, the facilitation of trips,
and the hiring, training, and ongoing development of field
instructors.
Responsibilities:
§
Lead surf,
snowboard, mountain bike, rock climbing, hiking, snorkeling
and backpacking trips
§
Manage and
mentor field instructors and interns utilizing instructor
evaluations and development plans with individual and
programmatic development as a key objective
§
Organize and
deliver technical and facilitation trainings to staff and
volunteers
§
Supervise the
Logistics Coordinator
§
Hire new staff
and cultivate a team environment among all Outdoor Outreach
staff
§
Staff Outings
Schedule
§
Inventory,
maintain, and manage all field equipment and associated
logistics
§
Develop and
implement program policies and procedures
§
Update and
maintain trip and field operation manuals
Qualifications:
§
Skilled
facilitator
§
Experience
teaching surfing, climbing, backpacking, snowboarding,
mountain biking, group processing and/or interpersonal
communication
§
Organized,
self-directed, multi-tasker
§
Bachelor’s
degree in related field
§
Dedication to
working with disadvantaged youth and people from diverse
backgrounds
§
Possesses
ability to build strong relationships with youth while also
setting clear boundaries
§
Commitment to
working as a team player and cultivating an
environment of collaboration and
teamwork among Outdoor Outreach staff
§
Excellent
public speaking and outreach skills
§
25 years or
older
§
Class B
Commercial Drivers License with passenger endorsement (or
before employment begins)
§
Wilderness
First Responder
§
3-4 year of
guiding/instructing experience
§
AMGA Top Rope
Certification or higher preferred
