Community participation is a vital component of the Outdoor Outreach philosophy. As part of its first year strategy, Outdoor Outreach enlisted the corporate sponsorship of several businesses. Each of these companies have recognized the value and importance of the Outdoor Outreach mission. By giving to the Outdoor Outreach organization, whether it be equipment, services or in-kind donations, these businesses help not only the at-risk youth who participant but the communities in which these children live. Outdoor Outreach will continue to solicit the support and sponsorship of other businesses in its ongoing efforts to keep its vision alive.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Michele Hanley and Sail San Diego for generously donating to our latest adventure, a sailing expedition on San Diego Harbor. This April, the El Cajon Adventure Club was given the opportunity to sail aboard two 40' Catalina sail boats!

"We were warmly welcomed by co-owner Michele Hanley who gave us a brief overview of the day's events and escorted us down the dock to Sail San Diego's two, beautiful sailboats. The crew gave a tour of the vessels and an important safety briefing to the students, all first time sailors. Before long, we were off for a memorable afternoon on the water, cruising around Shelter Island, out along many of the naval ships and along downtown San Diego's skyline. The club members were given introductory lessons into the world of sailing and even had the chance to steer the boat and till the sails!"

Sail San Diego organized an amazing voyage for our participants, and we are ready to set sail with them again, with the Crawford Adventure Club, in May.
