In August 2014, OO’s Leadership youth had the opportunity to speak at U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s ‘Urban Refuges’ presentation. Interior Secretary Sally Jewell was in the audience as Leadership Program graduate, Vincent Culliver, gave his and other Leadership Program participants’ recommendations on how to connect urban youth to the transformative power of the outdoors.
Outdoor Outreach participants, staff, alumni, and Board of Directors share the impact our programs had on their lives. The transformative power of the outdoors not only inspired them to dream big and purse new opportunities, but also to provide these outdoor experiences to other youth.
